The weather God of North Lancashire clearly thought the going under foot was not challenging enough. So Thursday he sent us strong winds followed by ceaseless rain. He surpassed himself this morning by adding a great big lump of cloud. That brought drizzle and poor visability.

After my mishap with the silicon cover from the ear piece I ran without music.

When I finally controlled my ragged breath, I really enjoyed the experience. You could hear rain drops on leaves and in puddles. The sound of the few brave birds in song and flight from branches.

Soaked but feeling great. The minute and a half I knocked off my 8k time also helped.

1hour 3 mins. O.k. I am never going to beat any records but 9 months ago I was struggling with the 90 second runs.

Happy trotting.

Well done, RR! The gods haven't been kind to us here in Leicestershire, with the general outlook being 'drab. Stay inside' for the most part, but I laugh at the plans of gods, and will be out there trudging with the best of them, hoping for between 4 and 6k!

Actually it only feels like weeks.

Everything speeds up (apart from my running pace) as I get older.

Remember those days of considerable self doubt. I sometimes almost convince myself I there is no need to worry
