A pretty night run

Switched to an evening run...definitely find this harder than the mornings!

It was freezing, but i had one layer too many on and so was feeling too hot after 1km can you imagine. So the rest of my run entailed having a jacket tied round my waist lol. I was glad of it though because as soon as the run finished the cold hit me again.

Check out my pretty run route though - gotta love a bit of the Olympic Park :-) I ran from Velodrome down to the Stadium and back with a few loops so i covered 6.5k...a few stairs to contend with but it was pretty enjoyable.

I am very lucky this is outside of where i work, would love to do it more often but it all comes down to kiddie care

Happy running everyone!

So pretty! 🌟 That's brilliant you have a lit up run you can do in the dark - it looks fab! Are there many other people using it at the same time? I'm the opposite, I've just started running early mornings to avoid the dark - I really like it, nice and quiet, just the odd runner/dog walker about. A nice way to start the day 😊

Good run. Looks a great place for an evening run, look at all that light!! I’m off to have words with my local council re lighting in parks! Enjoy your next one.

The thing I enjoy about early evening run (if work pressures allow) is there are fewer people about. I run round St James’s Park and it can be busy with tourists.

Well done ! Keep going!

That’s a lovely looking place to run Alison! Nice that it’s well lit. I don’t have anywhere safe to run in the dark really.

I know what you mean about getting hot quickly. It’s always so hard to get clothing just right in this weather - as you say it’s easy to get very chilly afterwards. So yes, tying a thin running jacket around my waist sometimes has to do!

Happy running! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Well done! 👍😃

Taking your jacket is always a good plan. I usually tie round my waist. Always have. Pop it back on afterwards or if the weather suddenly changes.

A great place to run away from all the busy roads- and it brings back memories of 2012.
