This was a wet one!

Well........ I did wait until it had stopped raining and got out when it had stopped.

Everything was going really well, breathing was great. I got into a brilliant rhythm and was thoroughly enjoying my run....".......... Then the heavens opened I was absolutely soaking.🌧💦💦. Had to eventually take specs off and put them into my pocket as really🤣🤣🤣I couldn’t see in front of me..I met some sheep who were on the wrong side of their field sheltering in the hedge, spoke to Frank the farmer who was just on his way to collect them.

So I carried on down through my village and down through to the next. There were a few cars that passed my and I’m sure I could hear them call out to me “ are you mad woman” hee! While running in the next village,I ran passed the village shop where customers were enjoying coffee ☕️outside all nice and dry under the shop canopy and I did think I heard a couple of “Oh dears” ! as I squelched passed😩

I was hoping to get to 5.5k this morning unfortunately I just couldn’t do anymore as I was soaking with wet wet feet to top it all! So I called my darling hubby to come and pick me up My knight in shining armour......

My planks will have to wait till tomorrow now.

Happy running all.🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🤗🤗

At least you still got back with a grin on your face, Peggy! 😃❤️ I’ve really no idea how people complete long races in torrential rain!!! 🤔💦💦💦☔️

Thank you mountaindreamer. I agree with you,I too have no idea how people can do long races in torrential either. They must be very dedicated.🤪🤪🤗🤗❤️

Oh Peggy, the day you get off your treadmill and head for the real world it pours down with rain. What a great picture!

We were lucky that it happened to us last night coming back from a local bar, such strong winds too. This morning it was dry and bright for Parkrun but the rain came back in the afternoon

I understand from other posts that a peaked hat helps if you wear glasses, but not if you are running into it

💦🏃‍♀️💦🧢💦👏👏

in reply toDexy5

I know! I know! I really had dipped out on the weather. To be honest I did hum and har about the treadmill but it can be so boring sometimes and getting outside is so much better isn’t it? so being determined I was going outside rain or no rain!🌧🌧🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️💦🤣🤣🤗

Well done for getting out and getting wet! I'm a fair weather runner which has messed up my running schedule for 2 dreich weeks!! SUCH a wimp ... but I did go to the gym and do circuits or strength or yoga - but not running!

I even have sealskinz waterproof socks but prefer to shelter inside! x

in reply toAPScotland

Thank you APScotland. And well done on your circuits, yoga, strength.i still need to do some more planks. However I’m sitting down with hubby and tea ready to watch the rememberance parade,so planks will have to wait.🤗🤗
