Hills everywhere, my legs were like lead and I struggled, ha, you say but you ran 9 miles, yes, I say it’s this little voice inside me that says, keep going you’ll get there, I nearly didn’t, wanted to do 10 miles but didn’t, failed Zim afraid, disappointed.

Make sure you're resting up adequately. If you're upping your distance then take a down week every third week. And cross train. The longer distances mean you need strength.

Also, sleep more and watch what you eat as it all counts.

But don't beat yourself up because you didn't do what you wanted to do, we all get those runs. Just focus on what you achieved which is fabulous!

Thanks so much for your advice, I am probably running too much, I have run 17 miles since Monday

Next time! Or next week! You will get there!

You ran 9 miles! That's huge! Don't be disappointed! It is a great accomplishment. You'll get to 10 miles, but perhaps a recovery week is in order where you reduce the mileage for a week to allow your body to recover fully, then try for 10 miles again. You'll get there; be kind to yourself.

You’ll do great! Don’t do any longish runs until then; if anything, just a short little 15-20 minute run. Enjoy your race 😊

Oh well better luck next time. Our next run is always better. Oh yes it Is!

Shouldn’t you be running fewer miles if you have a race coming up? Taper week! When you drastically cut down on mileage, eat and hydrate, rest, sleep, before race day 🙂

Just slow down.. you are really pushing yourself...especially with a race coming up...You run yourself really hard.. are you enjoying it still ?
