So there’s me ready for the off at Parkrun this morning, all wrapped up with layers, I’d already chosen to play REM’s Automatic for the People to spur me on, but Spotify had other ideas and played me this instead. Who’d have thought that the theme’s from Rainbow and World in Action would be good to run to 😂
Meanwhile, my Fitbit was stuck under the tight sleeves of one layer of clothing, so it was all a bit of a muddle really...but it all made me smile as overall it was a lovely morning, I had a great run and got another sub 30 in the bag.
Earlier in the week, I managed to do my first 9k run. Explored my first proper countryside run going to a nearby village and back. The only problem I’ve really had with these long runs so far are the last k, they are a bit of a slog because you’re so nearly there but you’re not quite as there as you thought (if you get my drift!) so it mucks with your head and your rhythm a bit.
At the beginning of the week I’d done my intervals again. They were messy unfortunately as the park was busy and I had to concentrate on people and dogs rather than what my app was saying to me. Still did them, they were just a bit in the wrong order 🙄 and I did them in my new trail shoes (ready for off road Parkrun tourism next week) 👍
So this morning, it was ☀️❄️☀️😬 cold! So new hat, new gloves, new inexpensive buff like thing, new multiple layers, all a bit fiddly to get to gadgets with, especially when you’re hands are a bit numb from helping to put cones out in the car park! Still running is great for warming you up; so much easier than trying to keep cool in the summer. A bit skint now so I hope I’ve got everything I need to see me through the winter running season!
Happy running everyone 😀🤗🦆
