First attempt at a fields run 😰

Thought I would have a change & do my start of the week 4K run across the fields this afternoon, that was a learning curve, 1K in there was a hill but I thought no worries as it’s soon into the run 🤔, wow definitely got that wrong by the time I reached the stile at the top I wasn’t sure if I was still technically running 🤭. But the run down the hill on the other side must have looked like a scene from the Bambie cartoon, controlled it wasn’t.

Just looked on Strava at my run, the hill was +32M in 0.5K but it showed I was first in that segment for my age bracket that’s probably because people my age should know better 🤗

Back to the trail for my next run 👍

😂😂 that’s a good reason for not doing hills- my age. Not sure Oldfloss and 61andtrying would agree though.

You slay that hill! Well done and I admire your spirit for considering such a steep hill on eneven terrain, woosies like me would have shied away. Are you going to do it again?

Great job. It’s different running and it takes some getting used to just like road to trail or treadmill to road. Splash out on some cross country spikes and make that segment even tougher in your age group... that’s if they’re not all down the pub.

Haha - hills are great but take practice- especially the coming down - which only is sometimes harder than going up! I have to admit living in the hills that I find flat runs harder as there is no relief- even if there are no ups! Perhaps try a mix - or do short runs incorporating the hills till you nail it! I love the image of Bambie 🦌 & know exactly what you mean. Great to try some variety in your routes. Happy running 😊🏎🏁
