Hi VRBs - well almost exactly 3 months after graduating C25K Dobby and I have graduated B210K and what an amazing feeling it is!! I went out with the plan of doing 9k and seeing how we went and in then end I just pushed on to the 10 as we were so close anyway! However I wouldn’t have been so inspired to get this far without my lovely VRBs - you know who you are - who have supported and pushed me on so brilliantly enabling me to get to this point - thanks so much all πŸ™!

It was so dark this morning and I hadn’t slept well last night so struggled to get up when the alarm went off - these things seem to go against us don’t they? - but up we got and after 15 minutes of faffing ( Razouski 😝) I was hi-vized and flashy-flashy ready for it! I had a couple of moments early on in the run when I began to worry about cars slowing down past me and a man stopping to watch me go past - which slightly unnerved me - but it was probably my over thinking - which is easy to do when running isn’t it? πŸ˜† πŸ’

The rest of the run was an out and back route - necessitated by the darkness- which I’ve done loads but just extended it over the weeks so there were no shocks. I did have a bit of a struggle in the middle - the short uphill section challenged me today for some reason - but then it was mostly all downhill until the last km. At the very last minute Dobs veered really speedily into someone’s garden after a moving cat 🐈 (strangely she’s fine if they are stationary 😜) and nearly pulled me over but now, after months of practice, I can anticipate her movements (usually) without mishap πŸ˜†.

My first proper 10k race is next month so until then I’ll just continue to enjoy running and look forward to receiving my virtual bling. It’s a shame Dobby can’t get a medal too πŸ₯‡- after all she has run almost all of the same runs with me 🐾 ❣- Doggy medals - there could be something in that idea!

Thanks for all the amazing inspirational stories and support from you guys on here - it truly is a great place to be. And happy running everyone πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’₯ xx

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Well done, graduate :) You've done amazingly, I'm so pleased for you. It feels like I've been moaning on about various aches and pains and problems, and you've pretty much just got your head down and done it, no fuss, and that's brilliant!

Reading your posts and replies has been a real encouragement to me too. I also love that you basically said "sod it" for the last run, and just did 10k anyway. I did that at the end too :)

Really proud of you, well done!!

Super news! I wish I could get up in the mornings! it would make my life so much easier!!

Such a fantastic milestone, maybe you could give Dobs a sock shaped chew? Not that you'd want her to be free! 😁 Enjoy your rest days! x

Fantastic work both of you! πŸ˜€πŸ‘ Dobby looks far more alert than I do at that time of the day πŸ‘πŸ˜‚ Is she a greyhound or lurcher? My mum had some ex-racing greyhounds🐢 a few years ago. They’d run around like the clappers for a while then sit down and refuse to budge. They were lovely natured though πŸ˜€

Welcome to the 10K club! πŸ‘πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ‘©β€πŸŽ“

Dizzysmum17 profile image
Dizzysmum17Graduate10 in reply to David_G

Thank you David. She’s a lurcher - no idea what mix, possibly greyhound but she’s quite small so could be whippet. She still has loads of energy after running - even this morning - and goes straight out for a walk with my other half and our other lurcher when I get back from running! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸΎ
