My boy knows me so well, and for my birthday a few weeks ago he gave me a token for 5 runs with him ( my best present). I used my first one this week.... we chatted, freaked out the cows and just had a laugh really. Im so pleased running has brought us closer.

Have a great weekend of running and enjoy it.

Happy Panthering

That's really lovely. I would be over the moon if mine did that for me.

I'm hoping that I can persuade my teenager to come along to a parkrun with me, as I think she'd really enjoy it & I love the running so much now that I'd like to get the children into it while they are young so they don't miss out!

Leon joined me half way through C25k ( I bribed him!). But thankfully he took to running. We did many Parkruns and he often came on HM runs with me in his early teens which he ribs me about now! If you can get your teenager on board i think it can make a big difference to the relationship, but of course running isnt everyones cup of tea!

You are the luckiest (running) Mum in the whole world. I dream of the day when one of my two proactively asks to come running with me. My birthday is in February - not conducive to offering free runs unless they are post dated!

ju-ju- profile image
ju-ju-Graduate10β€’ in reply toLangley-Loper

I do feel very lucky, thankyou, and I hope yours come round... I did c25k with my daughter and she absolutely hated it, so it wasnt for her and I havent pushed it. Her World is horses :)

I've the opposite, I've been trying to bully, wait no, encourage my mum into running for the last year! I really, genuinely think she'd enjoy it especially as she lives in some of the most beautiful places. We got as far as getting her gait analysis and a pair of shoes when she visited last year (on her insistence, I'm not really a bully!) , but she's not yet got out in them. Arg mum, humour me, I'm sure you'll love it! Maybe I'll try giving her some free run vouchers for Christmas πŸ€”

ju-ju- profile image
ju-ju-Graduate10β€’ in reply toSqkr

Do a deal, get her to run, and you give her your houseboy hoover companion for christmas...?!!

Sqkr profile image
Sqkrβ€’ in reply toju-ju-

She already has one πŸ˜‚ it was meeting George, her hoover, that encouraged me to get my own. Like mother like daughter in so many ways. But not running.

YET.

Running with your kids is great. My daughters are a bit younger, but I'm lucky they love running too, and I hope to be running with them at events when they are old enough to enter.

To give your time is everything.πŸ€”

Your boy has done good.πŸ‘

He has got great pace also.β˜„οΈ

He is a credit to you.πŸ‘πŸ‘

My wife and two daughters have been runners, things can change.

Somehow I have caught up and I am running.

I now have 4 grandchildren.

I intend to run forever now and I would just love if I ever received such a present from one of them.

Enjoy it all Julia.πŸ’₯πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ†πŸ‘‘πŸ’₯

Hi am trying to get my sister running I no she will like it at the moment she keeps making excuses 🀨couch 25k would be ideal for .her

Tbae profile image
Tbaeβ€’ in reply toJennypenny2

Yes the programme and the forum.

Motivational magic.

Tell her for every one hour she will run she gives herself 7 hours of additional life.

Tell her also that the mitochondria in our muscles can be renewed to give her a fitness, health, wellness and balance in her life that will surprise her.

What’s not to like.

It’s only running that can really do it.

Hi Jenny, just medical facts.

Exercise and hopefully for your sister, running, is mandatory and we all know there is a price to pay if we do not do it.πŸ€”

Of course it is the individuals choice.πŸ‘

I just took up running this year at 75.Best decision of my life.πŸ’₯πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ’₯πŸ‘πŸ‘

That’s so lovely, quality time is so important, I remember my eldest son as a 6 yr old at Christmas time telling me he had no pocket money left to buy me a present, so he grabbed an empty Tesco bag and proclaimed he was going to fill it full of love for me instead, still makes me bleary eyed 13 yrs down the road! Enjoy each and every one of those runs with your wee boy xx

Love this post.My teen boy is I hope, making mental notes seeing me get in to running but has joined a running club in school just once so far. He's needed a new pair of trainers of course so the fabulously expensive Brooke's shoes might get him out there with me one day! I console with thinking that even as a role model my fitness & fun with this will rub off at some point.

Lovely present, lovely mum.
