4km recovery run and 'chewing up' a hill...twice

I loved misswobble's comment about chewing up hills, so I went out for my 4km recovery run and DELIBERATELY finished on a hill. (It's official, I've gone mad). I followed the 'slow and even slower' advice and got to the top, then I ran back down, turned round and took another bite. I did it slightly faster the second time, or felt like I did, and took a slightly longer cool down walk as I had a lot of cooling down to do tonight . Phew ⛰😉

No not at all BTP, you have not gone mad, well done for completing your 4k recovery run on a hill, athletes in training all have to run up hills as part of their exercises. Just keep practicing on that same hill, gradually you will get quicker and who knows you may get a sub 60 and sub 30 / 10 and 5k run respectively.

I seem to be getting much slower, but am hoping that if I keep practising difficult things and then do my 10km on the flat I might actually make it! All good fun and it's keeping me out of trouble.

I like the idea of 5km in 30 mins, then I can spend more time on the couch 😁

Yes, the quicker you get the run over, the quicker you get back to the couch, a case of 5K2C

Thank you. I've got my eyes on a bigger medal. I suppose the B210K medal will be bigger than the C25K medal? It will be easier to grip with my cheeks when I'm trying to get my glutes to activate 🔜🏅

Lol - I’m still battling with that concept! I think I have it, then I don’t!! Lol

Warm up walks and cool down walks should be a good length i think. I take time to do both 🙂

I don’t usually do Hill repeats. Get to the top and keep going I know I should but I can’t be bothered also,I know before too long there’ll be another one 😁

Welcome to the dark side 😂. See, that didn't take long before you started seeking out hills.....and repeating them. Love it!
