I have had an epiphany! Inspired by LoungeLizaard asking how I was getting on today I realised that I actually really love running and I know thatβs how many of you feel too but I didnβt really think about it until today - Iβm almost obsessed! I am constantly on running websites and planning routes. I have running friends at work and we are always discussing races and paces, park runs and fartleks and whether Wiggle have a sale on! But the BEST thing happened this week...
We had the school photos this week for all the students and during one session my job was to supervise. While we were waiting for the kids to come down for their pictures I was talking to the photographer who asked me if I was a runner...
βI obviously look really fit and physically like someone who runs loadsβ I thought π βHey look at me - I look like a runnerβ I thought π
βWhat makes you say that?β I said - waiting for him to tell me how amazing and physically fit I look...
βYouβre wearing a Garmin...β
Oh.
Still, we got chatting about it and he seemed as obsessed as me. It was great. And I wasnβt too disappointed he didnβt think I physically look like a runner π π π
Iβm a runner. I love running and I am so happy I discovered it. Happy running all π πββοΈ πββοΈ ππβ€οΈ

π€£π€£! Brilliant post!! Donβt worry, Iβm sure he added your physical appearance to the Garmin to get to runner! Running is truly amazing!! πβ€οΈ
Yay!!! That's so awesome I know what you mean about being gutted if you don't get out. I've been struggling with some shin and ankle pain (is that shin splints?) after attempting a rather hilly run last Monday, so the last run I did was Wednesday. I'm itching to get out there. I think I'll be OK to try a small run tomorrow, we shall see. I'm really thrilled to see you enjoying it so much. I really needed the encouragement myself
Thanks Neil - hope you manage to get out today and that your shins are feeling better. Itβs weird how we become so obsessed - my week can revolve around my 3 runs and what the weather is doing lol π πββοΈπβ€οΈ
Just had a lovely romantic meal with OH and yes running was included in our conversation. The wine nullified the aches and pains as a result of todayβs run.
So glad you had a lovely date/celebration night - and that the wine was good! You have to be able to treat yourselves occasionally β€οΈππββοΈ
Iβm sure it went some way towards helping numb them though UpTheStanley ! Hope youβre feeling ok this morning. And congratulations again on your fantastic achievement! ππΎβ€οΈ
I love to run too. It take you somewhere else, somewhere that the bills don't matter, work is not on your mind. It takes me to a place where putting one foot in front of the other is the only thing on your mind. I think it's run meditation to me. And that my friends is why I love to run. β₯οΈππ
That's a great way of describing it Hidden - and I totally agree! I just zone out with my dog and my music and forget all the other stuff - and then when I get home I start planning my next one lol! xx
Oh that made me smile!!! Especially the Garmin comment! I'm obsessed too - and this is a much more positive platform than the mainstream social media sites - I always come here if I need a laugh. Thanks Dizzysmum!
Thanks - and it is definitely more positive I agree! I rarely share running stuff with my other social media friends, there's little interest unless they are runners and I think I'm beginning to become addicted to Strava and this forum too haha! x
Im obsessed too. I love running after the event. I also love running when I do over 5k, when the run gets better, my legs find their rhythm and my breathing settles. I only love short runs in retrospect. Short runs donβt allow me to outdistance toxic whatever time. X
Yes, I agree. I leafed through Runnerβs World at the station bookstall on Wednesday and found so many interesting articles that I had to buy it. Always a sign of addiction onset!
