Sub 30 ParkRun at last! Official time 29:25 so smashed 45 seconds of my PB from 2 weeks ago!

C25K is the best thing I’ve ever done! Wahooo! Been chasing that sub 30 since graduation in April and been chipping away bit by bit. Hit a plateau about 2 months ago at 31:33 then joined a club. Club has helped me get 3 PBS of 40 seconds or more each in a month. Can’t believe it!

Need a new target now 🤔😂

Whoop whoop Tasha99 absolutely brilliant!!! I’m so pleased for you...& so envious!!! I cannot get any time off mine!!! It’s interesting that joining a club has helped 🙃

It’s the best club EVER! I joined one before but wasn’t fussed but this one is fantastic. Running out and about all over. Hill work has done it and pushing my pace with faster people too. There’s a massive range abilities and everyone is included and no pressure. If you can find a good one, it’d definitely help. I was getting bored alone too 😳

There’s one in my town & they run on Tues evenings....the guy who runs it is a friend so when he set it up he made me the first member, but I’ve never been out with them, I like running alone but maybe once a week running with others might not be so bad? Might give it a go , thank you 🙏🏻

Congratulations Tash99 on achieving your goal of a sub 30 minute 5k and a PB as well, 😊🏃🏃yes they say that running with others gives you motivation to run faster. 🏃🏃👍Your next target could be a 10k in the future.

Well done Tasha99. I haven’t done sub 34’ yet so hoping to chip away as a result of increasing distance but I’ll have to stop chatting to people as I go round. Sub 30 is excellent. 🏃‍♀️👏👏

Well done Tasha, you smashed it! I just got under 30 minutes too recently, and it's a fab feeling! 😁 I have signed up for a 10k race on 16th - it is a hilly course so will be achallenge! My first race (not counting Park Run), I'm a tad nervous! 😬 I have joined a running group too, it has helped me get used to hills as previously I tried to avoid them! Happy running! 😊🏃👟

Tasha99 profile image
Tasha99Graduate10 in reply toMutleyShuffle

Good luck on your race! I booked my first HM today for May with my group 😱😂 Better start going more than 10k!

MutleyShuffle profile image
MutleyShuffleGraduate10 in reply toTasha99

Wow! I'm just getting used to the idea of running 10k, a half marathon seems very scarey! Go you! 😁

Congratulations Tasha, it’s such a milestone to get under 30 mins! 😀👏👏

I’ve managed it a few times and it feels so good to do it. 😀Every run is different though and every time you run is an achievement, no matter how fast you go and you learn something new. No experience is wasted. 😊👍

Brilliant Tasha! I know how much you wanted this and I'm so pleased for you 😁

Joining a club has been one of the best things I've ever done as well. I'm running faster than I ever thought possible but also more importantly have met some really lovely people x

I'm going to try to PB next Saturday at pacers week and I know it's going to be really hard - wish me luck!

Well done!!! Well done!!! Well done!!! So pleased to see your post and read of your success. Such perseverance! 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️🎉🎉🎉🍾🥂⭐️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😊 I wonder how long the smile stayed on your face? I'm smiling thinking about it. I expect that your age grade percentage thingy has also been getting higher and higher. I wonder whether you have a target for that too? We can find so many targets to aim for it is a really personalised journey this running challenge!

I have begun to ponder the fact that the 30 minute 5k is 'a thing', but men do have a great advantage over ladies at 5k and yet we tend to think of sub 30 irrespective of gender. Ah well! I have to confess I have a definite urge to go for the sub 30 5k too, but I shall have to be patient, having not run all the time we were away.

I do hope that the term has been beginning well. I think that you had year 6s last year. Do you have year 6 again? Well done again! Brilliant! 🎉😊

Tasha99 profile image
Tasha99Graduate10 in reply toover61andstilltrying

Awe thank you for your lovely post! Yes my age grading is now about 52% so I’m glad I’m now over the half way mark!

Yes I’m back in Year 6 - I don’t think I’ll get out of it really: there aren’t many people who will do it!

Thank you again Xx
