I only went and did it... 5 months since graduating and I finally achieve the sub 30 minute 5k in a time of 29:44. It's only taken me 40 attempts to get there, shaving a few seconds under 10 minutes off my first 5k time back in May.
To say I'm fair chuffed with myself would be a bit of an understatement.
Right, shower time...

A dream come true for you STF, 40 seems to be a lucky number for runners to get a sub 30 minute 5k, Theoldfellow also on his 40th run got his first sub 30 minute 5k. 🏃🏾 👍
I have not got a sub 30 minute 5k, however, by gradually increasing the beats/steps/cadence a minute on my metromone app I may yet get a sub 30 minute 5k, probably not at a parkrun but on some route near to where I live, I assume that you ran that time of 29.44 in some park near to where you live, once again, congratulations 🎊 😊 🏃🏾
It was a mixture of pavements and an old railway path that is now a foot/cycle path around my village. If you look up "Baird's Malt" on Google Maps, you'll get the idea... 😃
That’s awesome.....I’m on that journey too...graduated from c25k 4 weeks ago and only managed to hit 5 km last week in 37 mins. It’s great to know that I’m doing ok and just aiming for littles bits each week will get me there. Chuffed for you!
Thank you.....I can't even get to 5km on every run at the minute, so trying to do a run of 30 minutes and then 5km to improve my stamina, so thanks for the tips on the longer runs.....that distance seems so far right now....but I'm loving running and loving the self challenge part of it.
