Moving on from 5k

Hi all. Can anyone offer advice/tips on how to move on from 5k. I graduated last month and want to progress. I run 3 times a week (5k same route) but my legs feel as though they are done in after every run and wouldn’t be able to do any more! Is it all in my head? Thanks in advance.

Hi there! Well done for finishing C25K!!

It may be in your head, but practice will help you 😊 You could try increasing distance slowly - have a look at ju-ju-'s 8 week 10K plan here:

healthunlocked.com/bridgeto...

Although we start off a new round every so often, it is a rolling plan you can begin at any time, and at your own pace. You will see that some of the weekly runs are shorter than 5k, so that could be helpful for you.

We also post every week during the run of the plan, for people to share their progress - we are currently at week 2, the post for which is here:

Hi and thank you very much for the links. I have had a good read and have printed out the timetable. It all makes so much sense. I will start it next week. Can you put me down now? or do I have to wait until then? Thanks again.

Hi Bukovina, I’m glad I’m not the only one. I have found all this information so useful. You often feel as though you are on your own (or is that just me?).

Hi

Yes do carry on,I didn't run further than the 5K for 9 years and I feel that I have missed out now.

Only got into going further after an injury and doing C25K to get back into running.

I've just finished Jujus plan and loved it.

Not what you're looking for?
