Advice please......after my 10k last Tuesday l woke up Wednesday with a really sore ankle, could hardly walk. I rested it, ice, elevation etc and it is so much better. Also done some stretches and specific exercise for ankles.
I'm thinking about a short run Tuesday, that will be a week of rest. Should l just go for it and see what happens?

You have to start somewhere, the trick will be when you are running on deciding whether any signals from your ankle are real or imaginary, only you will be able to tell, if in doubt, stop!
My ‘rule’ tends to be if something eases off during the day it’s probably just stiffness and worth testing with a caveat that I can always stop if it starts to feel worse. But If it gets worse during a normal day, then more rest needed and exercise won’t help. That seems to work for me anyway 👍
I don’t feel knowledgeable enough to advise, Abaggs. Just take it steady and listen out for your ankle grumbling is the best you can do, I guess. Good luck with whatever you decide is right to try. ❤️❤️
There is no real set time to run after an Injury break. It is very much how it feels
On the day. The caveat is probably to err on the side of caution and then only give it a gentle run out and stop if still causes a problem
Hopefully the rest and rice has been enough fingers crossed all is good for you.
Sorry to hear about your ankle. 😕 Do you have any pain at all now? I would wait until totally pain free after an ankle injury, then test it out with a short run. You can always stop if it hurts again, and rest a bit more.
I had an ankle problem which was related to an old injury after falling off my bike. It got worse as I progressed through c25k. I went to see a sports physio who could reassure me that running was not going to damage it any further, and gave me some exercises to strengthen my ankles. If this carries on, maybe you should seek professional advice.
