? Distance after injury?

As you already know I had an injury last week which thankfully has now resolved. Went for 2 very short runs (1x0.5k and 1x1k) today and all went ok. But I have a virtual 10k I need to complete before end of the month. I can only go tomorrow or Monday. My question is do I do 4-5 k tomorrow and 10k Monday (which is a busy day so will feel pressured to get it finished) or the 10k tomorrow with jog, walk intervals as I have more time to complete it slowly? Any advice gratefully received x

It sounds like you’ve made the decision to go tomorrow with the longer run

Take your time , and try and find somewhere relatively flat. Run walk is the way to go 👍 If you experience pain you’ll have to pack in You can run some things off but pain is a no-go

Unless it's a race, a 10K needs to be enjoyed so I'd say today when you have more time to relish it and enjoy it. And the weather looks gorgeous (it is where I am 🙂)

That’s exactly what I was thinking too 😁 it is a gorgeous day if not a little cold x I will aim for it but if not possible today then I will have Monday at a push x

It sounded like you suffered a pretty sore leg as you said you could barely walk on it, i'm not sure I'd want to run so soon on it myself. Given it's a virtual run, are they really gonna know when you actually do it? My experience of these things though is your paying someone mostly for a pretty medal with a very small amount going to the charity, so I wouldn't want an injury for a piece of bling as that would seem an insane trade.

Fingers crossed for you whatever though.

Why take the risk?
