This weekend I was originally planning to do parkrun on Saturday as staying with a friend who goes regularly, and then maybe a bank holiday 10K. But parkrun didn’t happen as he hadn’t run in a while (saved for another time) so I thought I’d combine the two today.
I only had a vague route in mind so I started out running by the river and then cut across to one of the nearby villages. At this point I’d usually run back home along the main road but for some reason I decided to head up the hill and take the scenic route back.
Not sure it’s the best idea to save all the climbing for the last 5k but I do enjoy making up the route as I go along. Nice view as you run down into the village too.
I haven’t run regularly lately and haven’t gone this far in a while so I suspect I might be paying for it over the next few days but it has been worth it. Needed to check I still could and although it definitely was harder than in the past it was still okay.
Happy running 🏃♂️
