Good to be back


First run after a 2 week break which included 10 days lounging around at a very nice all inclusive hotel in Crete. Usual thing. Ate too much, didn’t understand the cocktail menu (and wouldn’t know if they’d made it right anyway) so only had a few beers, failure to tan (mostly due to factor 30 and sitting in the shade!) and lots and lots of swimming. Managed to haul my increasing flabbiness round to the spa for a massage, but the lack of AC in the gym meant the running machine was a non-starter. I know, you’re all jealous!

Out today for the first time, rather nervous that I might’ve gone backwards, but managed 5k on the slow side of respectable (respectable for me anyway). Took a flat route this morning, so my next run will be hilly. Back on the programme ju-ju! 🏃‍♀️

Well done Katiepops , you deserved a running break . Your legs will have lots of spring in them now.


I’m back from crete tonight having only managed one short run in the fortnight due to the hilly ness of where we were (although Crete is hilly everywhere!). I am worried about going out again either Monday or Tuesday but your story has given me positivity that I will be able to get back to it - albeit slowly - without too much trouble! Glad you had a lovely holiday - and thanks for the inspiration! 😆🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🇬🇷
