Just a quick post from me, not much to report other than I finally managed to slow down on this morning's 5k run, and I really appreciated the change in pace.
Today was a lovely 5k along my favourite canal route, and it was lovely. Slightly chilly to begin with, but that was just perfect for me, as I do get quite hot. I deliberately tried not to rush. I was aiming for about 34 or 35 minutes. I came in at 33:20 but that's an improvement where going slow is concerned. Nothing else to report really, other than even after a couple of miles walk with the girls this afternoon, my legs feel great, and all is good with the world.
Take care everyone, run safely!
Neil

Sounds nice Neil. When did 5km become “just a quick run” ?well done on slowing down. Me, I just pick one of my hilly routes. I’m beginning to hate them less 😉

I know! I feel slightly guilty if I don’t do 5k now, which is silly
That sounds perfect, Neil. I like the 5km distance now - it’s enough to feel like a “good” run, but not so knackering, more energising. Glad to hear the pins are doing well. 😁
Thank you Sadie dear! Yes, I feel exactly the same. It’s nearly a year since my first 8 minutes of running, I honestly can’t believe I’m still doing it, and finding it fun!
Good for you Hidden ...sounds lovely...as much as we all love being on holiday I am looking forward to running on the canal when I get home, I’ve missed it so much...will you take me with you if you run there again this week? 😉
Hi mummycav, yes it was lovely, I do so enjoy running along the towpath. And as soon as you’re back, yes we should go on a virtual canal run, or even a real one! You’re somewhere near Huddersfield aren’t you? Only an hour away by car, or we could run and meet in the middle!
