Hi everyone, this is my forst post on this forum. I graduated c25k in July abd have been doing cinsolidation runs of mainky 4k with a few 5ks thrown in. I'm running a bit behind the crowd with this programme due to work commitments and life in general but tonight was my second run. After a trial with Jabra Pulse wireless headphones earlier in the week, this was my first recorded run using their app. I generally have a higher than usual heart rate (cleared by gp as nothing to worry about 😳) but Jabra tells me I exerted a bit too much on this workout with a very high training effect and that my recovery time is 72hours! Any general experience on whether it's worth taking the advice of a new app or ploughing on with the programme and aiming for one rest day as planned? I didn't feel like I was pushing myself too far but it was far from an easy run at the same time. Does Sunday evening seem too soon to try the 5.5k?

Knowing nothing about you whatsoever makes any advice a bit dodgy, but I reckon a large pinch of salt might be required, if you didn't actually think you were dying at the end of the run. "Very intensive" - compared to what, if that was your first run with the app? And where is the heart rate measurement (which to me looks astronomic rather than "higher than usual") coming from? Not the headphones, surely?
Don't quote me in the ambulance or A&E reception , but I would have thought 5.5k on Sunday evening, at a slightly gentler pace maybe, should be fine. Best of luck!
Thanks for the reply. Heart rate does indeed come from the headphones. I haven't tried a direct comparison with phone or watch while running to check accuracy but it does tally with resting heart rate measurement which usually sits around 80-90 bpm. I will take this with the large dose of salt you suggest and take it a bit easier tomorrow
