Hi! I quite like a mix up the local park is compacted aggregate trail, but a few bits of tarmac and even some nice short flat grass is fine with me! I find grass the hardest because it is uneven. But I am still at 5km running so those doing longer distances might be better informed than I am. Haven’t run on a track since school, but I know there are different levels of firmness, and training tracks may be softer than competition tracks where records might be on the line, and so on (haha, as if I know what I’m talking about... 🤣)
You know way more than me. I feel like I’ve been missing out. I like the grass not so much the gravel paths. The roads are quite steeply curved where I run so unless you are in the middle it means you run wonky.
My out and back run on a tarmac road is also an uneven camber but fortunately not steep and winding! I find it most comfortable running in the middle of the road and fortunately it’s a dead-end so it’s easy to get out of the way of any cars.
