Disappointed of kent

I got half way around pegwell bay park run and had to stop and go home. I felt so upset with myself. My ankles were really sore so maybe give myself a couple of extra recovery days. It’s the first time since I started running I’ve actually felt I had to give up. Hey ho listen to wheat your body is telling you. A small run is better than no run 🙄

Hi pippatong, do you think you got carried away to a faster pace by being with others. I know it has caught me out before I got my watch which lets me know my pace. Don’t think of this as a failure, just a rehearsal for your next run. One of the ways to strengthen your ankles is to stand on one leg for 30 seconds, building up to doing it with your eyes closed. Really helps. Enjoy your next run 🏃‍♀️👏

I was right at the back and not remotely keeping up. I just struggled today. I do normally use a pace app but have it on my phone so every one can hear so I didn’t use it today. It seems unsociable running with earphones at park run. I think I needed a rest day not a run day that’s all. Thanks for the advice though.

Don’t be too hard on yourself ... we all have bad runs... Remember you’re still lapping everyone on the couch 😊

You went and you learned- don’t be disappointed - just rest up! You’re still a runner, you’ve still done all that great stuff before 👏🏻💪⭐️ and there are plenty of runs ahead where you’ll smash it and surprise yourself.

I wear my earphones in one ear when I'm with others. I need it!!

It makes perfect sense to have a few days off if your ankles are really sore, so that you don't actually injure them and end up being out of running for far longer.
