Garmin Connect Help

I went for a run last night. It was split, 30m run, 2m walk, 15m run. It ended up be speedier than I planned and the 30m segment covered 3.21miles.

I've been looking on the Garmin Connect platform, but I can't work it out.

How can I work out my 5k (3.10km) time?

Thank you.

Am I being dim? I can't quite understand what you're asking...30m - does that mean 30 minutes? If so, that means you ran 5 KM in 30 mins...can you post a link so we can have a look?

connect.garmin.com/modern/a...

I ran 30mins, but covered (only just) more than 5km, so I wanted to see how long the 5km distance too me.

I think i've roughly worked it out via the pace as 29.09 mins for the 5km.

(I just wanted to see if i'd got a PB - but no).

Gawd, that's confusing! Why have you got it showing miles if you want to know your kilometer time? Wiggly route too!

I know - I loop back on myself a bit. I try to stick to well lit areas in the dark evenings.

I like to know both Km and miles - silly really!

Thanks for your help.

I use a Garmin, so I'll try and help.

Firstly, you need to set up your Garmin for miles or kilometres as the information that is displayed in Garmin connect will be one OR the other.

I believe that you can set this on your Garmin ( Settings/System/Units) or via Garmin connect. Then you want to setup your "laps" under Activity Settings (on your garmin).. mine is set to 1km. Then when you view your run your "splits" (1km laps) will be shown under the details of your run.

I think you may be getting confused by trying to work in K's and Miles which is fine to do in your head.. but the "Garmin System" needs to work in one or the other.

Thanks Andy,

The splits have been automatically set via the 'workout' feature on the Forerunner 220. (My program is 30m run, 2m walk, 15m run). I can't seem to change it when I use this function.

No worries - Thanks for your help.

I understand this. When I set my own workout I lose the ability to see pace per km it only does the splits the same as your workout. I'm thinking of going in to see if I can change this around so I get both. If I have any luck I will let you know. I'm using the 220 too.

During your first 30 minute running period, you ran the first 3.1 miles (approximately 5 klms) in 29 minutes.
