Well I know I shouldn’t but I just couldn’t wait.🙄I removed the boot 2 days early. I have been walking round with the boot and my built up shoe and not using the crutches all week, with no pain or swelling so I thought I’d see how I went.
Last night I took the boot off and just walked gently round the sitting room, out into the kitchen and back again. And was okay but a bit wobbly ( fear of it hurting I think). Then this morning I got out of bed and walked into the bathroom before I remembered and I was just walking naturally. So I showered, dressed and came downstairs. ( on my bum down the stairs still, I hasten to add). I took it easy throughout the day resting in settee and then sun lounger between making breakfast, then lunch and I also did a few gentle ankle strengthening exercises when I did my arm and core ones this afternoon. No pain, no swelling and much less wobbly.
And before anyone says I’m having a quiet day at home again tomorrow. I’m not going to be silly about this but I know my own body.
Oh and the pic? I’d just read another post about how hot it is and then I saw this clip.. thought it said it all
Thanks for all your good wishes while I’ve been laid up but hopefully this is the start of me making a good recovery. And I’m still not going to rush into running , don’t worry.
