One of my New Year resolutions for 2018 (as for pretty much every year come to thatπ) was to get fitter. I had a number of friends who had tried C25K and had seen such improvements I thought Iβd give it a go. It then took 3 months before I downloaded the app and another 3 weeks until 23 April before I put on my battered old dog walking trainers and snuck out making sure none of the neighbours were around. Got back 30 minutes later thinking I am never going to be able to do this. So, 8 days later I did R2. Then I thought if Iβm really going to do this I have to take it more seriously and from then on I stuck to the programme religiously and graduated on 4 July. So, as Iβm working tomorrow, I decided to do my Runniversary run today. I went back to W1R1 but jog/ran instead of walk/jog. Boy, did that feel hard, but a year ago I covered 2.7k and today I did 4.7k. What a difference a year makes. This forum and all you truly lovely virtual, and in some cases no longer virtual, running buddies have really supported, motivated and amused me over that year. Thank you and happy Easter Monday running on this beautiful sunny day πββοΈππ»ββοΈβοΈ

Hereβs to another year of progress for you. Well done
Well done Sandie, what a difference a year can make! You are now an accomplished runner, and itβs great that you are getting lots of support from hubby too. It was lovely meeting you in Southampton for parkrun and I hope we can do it again somewhere, sometime. Celebrate π π πββοΈππ«πΎπ₯π₯π£
Thanks Dexy. It was really lovely to meet you too. Cheeky has hinted at Stratford in July? Home run for Katnap and Tailchaser instead of them doing the travelling! x
Yes I suggested that they stay at home for a change. Iβve got Stratford-upon-Avon pencilled it but cannot fully commit yet.
Iβve just seen that itβs Camperjam that weekend in Shropshire, so have suggested to Chris that we book in and escape to Stratford on Saturday, as itβs only an hour away.
Happy Runniversary!
Well done for sticking with it ...youβre brilliant!
Keep up the good work and good luck for the next year.
Happy running x
Fantastic Sandie, and happy runniversary! You are an amazing runner and have taken to it like a π¦ to π¦ Also fabulous to meet you in person at Southampton PR. Whenβs the next one - are you able to make it to Stratford in July or will you be in π«π· ?
Iβm thinking of doing the same run for my runniversary in June. Having done intervals this morning, I can imagine how hard W1R1 will be! π©π πββοΈ
Enjoy the rest of your Easter! ππ
Thank you dear Cheeky π Your enthusiasm is one of the things that has kept me going, as we started closely together. You are such a positive runner, itβs infectious. Ooh Stratford in July sounds good as weβre back for the month. My friendβs arriving fromGermany on 20th but I could probably do any other Saturday. Just let me know which one and weβll roll out the van (or even scrounge a bed with one of my oldest friends who now lives in Stratford) xx
Ooo fantastic Sandie! π There was talk of July 6th. TailChaser was going to confirm. Pencil it in for Stratford and letβs keep our fingers crossed! π€
I sometimes wonder if Iβm a bit too enthusiastic! But Iβm glad Iβve motivated people. π Iβm just paying back the encouragement I got from friendly runners on the forum when I started! ππ
I love your enthusiasm cheeky, itβs wonderful! Yes, Stratford 6th July. The only caveat is that itβs the River Festival weekend so it will be totally heaving (even more than this weekend which is pretty scary!). Thereβs caravan parking at the racecourse but it may be booked up by now x
We could do the following weekend as well if itβs easier for everyone!
Congratulations and well done on the run. And a huge well done too on keeping your running going. Iβm delighted for you.
Damien
Happy runniversary! Well done, that year has gone fast as have you! πͺπ happy easter! π£π£π£
Thank you JoJo. The sub 30 5k still eludes me though - maybe in year 2!
Personally I put more stock in distance and endurance but if you want it, you'll get there ππ
Happy Runniversary! What a great way to commemorate it - to use the programme as an interval run. Congrats on a great year. Here's to another one.
Inspiring post. Lovely running. Thanks. πππΌππππΌββοΈ
Thatβs fabulous Sandie. A whole year of a runny you πππ₯³π₯³. Imagine all the smiles and miles youβve done. What a fantastic achievement and I hope we get to meet again. π
Many congratulations on your runniversary Sandie! Amazing how things can change in a year - all the best for many more. ππ
Woohoo! Happy runniversary - may there be many more of them
Happy run adversary SandieπππΎββοΈπ
May there be many more
Happy anniversary Sandie and what a fantastic journey you've had. We must all be so much fitter than a year ago. ππ

it was a delight to meet you in person and as you know, it meant so much to me at my first Half Marathon.. I cannot wait to return the favour
Wishing you, many, many , many more happy runs...
Floss xxx
Thank you dear Floss. Youβll wait a long time for my first HM! I still remember last summer reading your post about running around Le Bugue and the sheer joy of running that came from you really helped me keep going. Hopefully see you soon xxx
I really hope we can meet up again soon... a run together would be wonderful! I am looking forward to running in Le Bugue again at some point... I love it there Although Cricceth gave the temperatures in France, a run for their money this last weekend!
Take care my friend
happy runniversary Sandie what a difference a year makes!
here's to many more happy running adventures x
I missed this on your big day, but belated Happy Runniversary Sandie, you've come a long way in a year and here's to another year of joyful injury-free running π
