Completed C25K last week but have decided to carry on the good work and go onto 10K, does anyone have any advice on how long to stay at 5K before stepping it up to 10K

Welcome to the other side :) Really well done for completing C25K, it feels great, doesn't it?

I would have a crack at the C25K+ podcasts for a few weeks, see here nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/c...

It's probably a good idea to try a few 5k runs as opposed to 30 minute ones, if you time is slower which most peoples is. No need to worry about doing 5k in 30 minutes at all. I reckon when you're at the point where you don't break into a cold sweat thinking about running 5k, then you're probably ready.

All the best, and do feel free to come back here for advice!

well done, and its up to you... its a great idea for some to consolidate the 5k for a bit, or just carry on up to 10 if you feel ready ( I did this but only because I would have lost interest otherwise and I needed a focus ). As others have said the C25k 5k plus podcasts are great fun and give some structure too.

I would say consolidate unless you’re already doing 5k runs. The 10K plan is fantastic and gradually increase pace. As with C25k you can take your time and repeat runs.

Hi Toryblueyes Well done for completing the C25K programme, hope your fiance is feeling the benefit toi, great of you to support him this way. As the others have said, consolidation is a great thing to do, I never managed 5k in 30 mins) still haven't...... Yet!) but consolidated with 4 weeks of running 5k 3 times a week and then joined the fabulous ju-ju- plan, I have only just started dabbling with the C25k+ podcasts but others speak highly of them, whatever you do, keep going and enjoy your running
