Active W2D2

So I ran the active plan w2d2 which was:

W2D2: 10 minute jog, alternate 2 minutes of fast runs and jogs 2 times, 8 minute steady run.

Work was cancelled because of an electrics issue so I want out around 3:30pm. I was really hot. The two run-jogs were a bit of a killer but I made it :D

Well done! When I’ve done intervals I need a good 3 minutes in between 😂

Yea apparently it builds up speed during running(?) but I'm not sure how that works :D

I need to start doing some intervals I think- the very idea of sprinting takes me back to school sports day (I was not a sporty child). I need to remind myself I’m a grown up runner now!! 😂

Good man!! Intervals are good for the soul and legs and improve your VO2max/oxygen capacity. Think quick feet and "patter, patter, patter". As your legs get stronger you can open up your stride a bit and cover more ground and get quicker. Vroom baby!!

Have you tried the NHS speed podcast? I believe that's intervals.

Yup. The fast bits were a bit slow but the slow bits in between were knackering. Lol

And my knee decided that Saturday was too hard and is looking pleadingly at the IC. It's faking tho...but I'm indulging it for a few days
