An ongoing plan for strength and stamina exercise has been drawn up Start Monday.
Writing is being done.... Paintings are being finished
Garden is in the care of Small runner in training, until I get home at the weekend.
I have not walked much... or cycled much.. far too warm... averaging a daily temperature of 30 degree here in Wales I shall do both when back home... Mr OF is getting me a new bicycle to keep at home...
I have been swimming.... skinny dipping off the Lleyn Peninsula...
The seals were, as ever, friendly
I have been resting too Not a bad view from the IC...in my photograph
So many on the IC currently... and missing their runs...
We will get there... it may be slow and steady, but we will get there.
Happy healing all those on the IC and Happy safe running to all who are not
Flossx
PS
I hope the photo does not offend anyone

It was.... I sat there for quite a while One of my favourite places
Fab photo! You could never offend. Sorry to hear you are waiting on an MRI that is frustrating - I’ve been there & on the day it was due they cancelled an hour before - grrrr. You are keeping a positive outlook which is great & will help with the healing & hey - cycling is just as good as running - well nearly! At least you are keeping as active as you can. Good luck - take care & go gentle - you are very precious to us all.
I know it’s awful - but like you always say - running will always be here for you - it ain’t going anywhere. You’ll be back before you know it. Sending virtual hugs 🤗
I want to be sat on that rock enjoying that view. Your body might be letting you down at the moment for running but there’s nothing wrong with your soul x
Hope you don’t have to wait too long for your scan. Skinny dipping in UK waters is not a common occurrence.... take advantage whilst you can. Still on the IC too, back to the chiropractor in the morning 🙄
Oh old floss, that photo is idyllic, it's pea eful, it creates memories and for me, it shows a tranquility that long to have.
It would be lovely to meet you, I'm only 30 odd miles from Cardiff, but if you're ever nearby again, please call me, message me and pop over, you are very very welcome and it would be lovely to see you. Hope you're back to good health very soon 🤗😘 xx
It still feels wrong. It’s just not right for you to be on the ic. Don’t get me wrong, I love the nhs but the waiting times are crazy. I hope it’s not much longer, we need you back!
Enjoy the rest as much as you can, and skinny dipping?! Saucepot! 😂😘
Well ...from x ray to consultant... only took three days.. so that was brilliant...but I have to wait for a while because they have to see a difference in a time frame!
I shall be as patient as I can.... and I am so lucky in the fact I have my place at the coast!
Nope... daft but nor stupid... I was on my towel... I keep it close in case of unexpected visitors... don't ant to scare the coastal path walkers!!! :)xxx
That looks beautiful, no wonder you've been skinny dipping! It sounds as if you have a plan Floss and since this is what the running gods have wished for you then they have their reasons. I have no doubt you'll come back stronger than ever.
Oooh dear, sorry it’s not better news. You can’t do much else than be patient and hope the mri scan comes sooner rather than later Have you checked several hospitals waiting times?
Running teaches us patience... although on some of these glorious days, gosh it is hard. Fortunately, having this bolt home in Criccieth is wonderful.. and having such stunning locations to visit too.
Good for you! I admire your 'cheekiness' in stealing a quick skinny-dip These are the types of adventures that keep us alive and going. Long may it continue!
Talking of cheeks, mine still isn't fixed. I thought it was and had 2 lovely weeks running again, getting back in to my running groove, only for it to twang on Tuesday.... I shall have to see a physio I know (after 3 months + on the IC.... sigh!).
Oh well, I feel philosophical about it, which I didn't think I would, so that's a bonus Running will come again for us both, one day. Meanwhile you are making the most of your extra-curricular activities! 10 out of 10 for effort!
Swimming in the nip! How lovely! And swimming is so good for you. Next to running it’s my favourite thing. I completely understand how you must be missing your running...but you are spending your time so well, and a bit of reflection and rest is so good for the soul - you know this dear Flossie. I wish you speedy healing. xxx
Yes... it is so good for the soul...to just sit and soak up the wonder of the place.
Swimming there is idyllic... and once you are in the water, especially in some of the rocky inlets when the tide is in... it is glorious! Heading there again today
Oh I wish I was there! I am really struggling with the heat and more than that, the humidity. They are building a “wild swimming” lake in my local park right now, but it won’t be open until next year - I must get to the beach soon!
I’m okay thanks Flossie. On week 6 of ju-ju’s 10k plan, and have been enjoying it - until this flipping heatwave hit! xxx
It looks beautiful and tranquil. I’m trying to understand swimming in the sea in November! It’s bringing me out in goose bumps even on this 17 degree evening!!
It is a beautiful place and thank you... calm and really quiet.... I love it there... and of course... swimming in November and later in the year, the sea feels warmer... because out of the sea is cooler
Going to hit 27 again today here, so it takes a little while to just get in there
As always Floss, it’s a lovely photo & I am envious of the lovely view from the IC, I would love to join you there with a brew & a couple of rich teas (dunked obviously!) after one of my runs!! Oh the things we could talk about 😊...I am sending you a special huge hug all the way from Yorkshire & letting you know that I will be taking you with me on my 7k (gulp) today xxxxxx thank you Floss xxxxx
Not offended just envious .....of the scenery, sun on your back ......NOT the IC which incidently I thought was Intensive Care ( i thought blimey this running is a dangerous sport!)
Another gorgeous picture and a wonderfully positive post despite the huge setbacks you've had. If you have to be on the IC, you couldn't have picked a more beautiful serene place to spend it. Fingers crossed for your scan to be booked soon and good results. We've got your back (but maybe we'll leave Mr. OF to apply the sunscreen to our favourite nudist 😉)
Thanks you...yes all feeling a bit more positive now.. the sea and the sunshine and the serenity help. I was covered in sunscreen...and that is the bit Mr OF likes best about nekkie swimming! x
Thanks for the update Oldfloss . Lovely to hear you are finding alternatives activities to keep you busy and fit. 💪🏼 Photo doesn’t offend at all - great view! I wonder if you’re going to start a ‘naked selfie’ trend now?? 😂😂💁🏻♀️ Xx
Hello.... oh I have been up to my tricks... I recover from one thing..( non running related) and then another zaps me... !!!
Horsefly bite infected....
Knee twinge after [kneeling on a stone floor weeks ago... routine x ray and I end up seeing a fracture consultant two days later... read the posts and have a giggle.... only me!!!!
That looks beautiful! And get you having a cheeky skinny dip I bet it was absolutely heavenly in this heat!
My brother in law has just bought a piece of equipment that converts his normal bike to a static bike when he wants to cycle indoors so that could come in handy if it’s really hot outside.
Good to hear you are keeping sane. Photo looks great and love the words. They say a picture paints a thousand words but sometimes a couple of hints are helpful too 😀.
Oh Oldfloss! I'm so sorry to hear you are on the IC too. I hope your MRI scan is soon and that it is an old fracture not new. You still find encouraging words to write for everyone else *hugs*. Beautiful spot - are those Yr Eifl in the distance?
The view from any side is incredible... x We head across from our coast home in Criccieth... been walking, cycling and swimming off the Llyn for many, many, many years
Sadly not at present - I grew up on the edge of the Nant Ffrancon, and associate Yr Eifl with trips to see my great uncle who lived further down the coast. I do miss the area so much though.
A joint run would be amazing though, if I get back home and we're both back on our feet!
Oh, Old. Hope you're off the IC soon but I love the llyn Peninsula. The choughs, lizards, sounds of crickets... It is one of those rare places where you can feel like the world is miles away from you and just relax and enjoy the tranquility.
Cannot wait to get back there in a week's time..it is one of my most favourite places and has kept me sane on more than one occasion.. all seasons, all weathers x Thank you! x
