Prefer virtual and solo running.

Race for life today. I've realised that I much prefer my private solo stuff and throwing in a little virtual stuff for some bling.

I will enter an official 10k . I may even enter a half marathon but I'm not going to be clocking them up every month. I will still join my awesome Notts womens runners occasionally.

I'm going to get better faster and stronger but in the main part by doing it by myself 😁

O feel like ive had quite an epiphany thus morning.

I know exactly how you feel. I discovered that, unlike lots of runners in the forum, I didn’t really enjoy Parkrun that much. Then last summer I did Race for Life 10k as a survivor which was quite emotional; and though really pleased to have finished and with a good time it wasn’t the same as running on my own. I’ve done another 10k since but so far that’s all.

I find the waiting around a bit challenging as I’m hearing impaired so can’t really hear what’s going on, and because I have vertigo people rushing past me puts me off balance and I get quite wobbly so they are not the best conditions for me.

I also love running as a kind of therapy -time alone with my own thoughts or no thoughts.

I guess we’re all different.

Having said that it’s nice to get some bling, so well done on completing the Race for Life - and a fabulous cause too.the

Well done on your race for life as a survivor. I'm running for my mum who is also a survivor 😁.

As long as we 're all enjoying it I think its great doing whatever suits us. I just think running is awesome.

I have bought a medal board though so got to still do the odd event x

We are leggings twins!! Yep, survivor here too and running because I can. Yet to do a race but signed up for a 10k in September and then a HM in October. I’m not sure how I’ll get on in a crowd- I never see anyone out much when I’m running- but its a great way to raise funds and as they say, gets me off the couch!! Good luck and look forward to the bling postings as and when!

Love the kit.

I’m very naturally a solo person and I really need to break out of it!
