Interesting reading...
That is very interesting reading actually, thank you for sharing it. I shall now not beat myself up for running slowly in the warm And that's got me decided too, I think, when I go out *EARLY* tomorrow morning for a little test run, I'm going keep it nice and slow. I should be doing that anyway as I'm recovering from some random weird running injury!
When I started running I had this mental image of me gracefully skipping along the canal towpath, as if running on air, looking happy and free, smile on my face. The reality is more of a red-faced, sweaty middle aged man looking rather out of place!!
I shall be taking a look at this....thank you Sadie x
Wow....there’s a lot going on in there when we’re running....my cardiovascular system was def at its peak today, as was the sweating, if I could’ve run in the niff I would’ve!! 😜
Very interesting read Sadie, especially the benefits of doing Intervals....thanks for sharing 😊xx
Great read Sadie. Thank you. x
Great post. There’s another linked off that one worth reading too:
Very interesting Sadie!
Thanks for sharing
Good grief, no wonder I felt faint after running 11k in it yesterday. I take on board what it says about increased heart rate, especially as I run at maximum heart rate most of the time anyway. thanks for posting this, Sadie. I think the major problem with summer running in the UK is humidity; it's like breathing soup. xxx
Yes, no wonder! You be careful out there, maybe do shorter runs whilst it’s this hot. I am attempting my 2nd 8k tomorrow and am rather nervous! But going to try and get out before 7am if I can. I am in Norwich this weekend visiting my mama, and at least it is a few degrees cooler than London which is reaching 30 degrees today! I hate humidity, too - makes breathing so hard. 😩 xxx
Haha, yes, shorter runs. I hadn’t been going over 5.5k till yesterday, which was a total accident. I thought I would run along the footpath to Churchill and back, which would have been about 5k I reckoned. But the footpath vanished so I tried to cut across country and got completely lost. My heart was in my boots when I came to a busy road signposted home and still had 3 miles to go. I was exhausted by the time I got back, but I discovered it’s actually easier to keep running than to walk. Anyway. I posted up the photos and the run yesterday if anyone feels like reading about my folly and learning from it. at least I had my hat, water and energy gel, which made all the difference. I also notice I’m getting a nice even suntan.
Oh cripes, Flick! Thank goodness you had supplies. Have a nice rest up before your next run, now. xxx
Im taking two days off! No running till Monday.
