Having only run in winter, I have started to peel off some layers, but essentially my running kit is still full length running leggings and long sleeved running top. I've dispensed with the cycling jacket now the weather is improving, wearing a running vest over my long sleeve top. This is good for now, but it won't take much of a hike in degrees for me to overheat I suspect. I think I'd feel a bit "bare" in only the running vest, but not sure!
What do you wear for warm weather running? Short leggings? Shorts (heaven forbid?). Any tips or advice gratefully received.

I am in Spain and temp has been anywhere between 0 and 14 degs at 7 a.m., and that has sometimes been in the same week.
Running for 30mins + if it's cold I start out in 3/4 trousers/leggins a tight vest top, a baggy vest top and a light zip-up jacket. I have also used 1 or 2 Buffs on my head, round my neck or just over my chest under my zip-up jacket on colder days. I did try gloves but found stuffing my hands up my sleeves was better.
As I warm up I usually get down to the baggy vest top by 10 mins in.
The Buffs go in my bumbag, or round the strap twice, and I roll the jacket then tie it round my waist. It takes practice!
I usually put the jacket back on as I cool down.
If it's warmer I just go in baggy vest top, and leggins of course.
I have to smile as the Spanis people out and about at that time, and later, are in big coats, hats, scarves, gloves and boots. They must think I am mad 😂
I have 3 different length leggings - longs, just below knees and shorts. All last summer when I was doing C25K during the heatwave, even the shorts were too hot, but I couldn’t wear less! 😱😳
I also have some Asics tops with long, short or no sleeves, so I basically mix and match. Today, for example, I ran in the medium length leggings and vest top. Perfect. 👍
My very best purchase for hot running days is a loose fit open back tank top from Under Armour! It looks cool, and best of all it feels cool. It lets the sweat evaporate from the bit between your shoulder blades and that's lovely (tmi? Naaah). I love it so much I bought another four in the sale last year... I pair it with the tiniest of tiny shorts because although I'm strictly a jeans and t-shirt creative hipster sort of girl in real life, since I started running I seem to have started shedding clothes like mad. Then it's back to the librarian hipster look once I've showered. Kind of a Superman/Clark Kent thing 😄
I've become adept at removing my jacket and tieing it round my waist while running. I have a warm jacket, a wind and shower proof jacket, long sleeved top, short sleeved top, vest. Warm leggings, thinner leggings, cropped leggings, and shorts. I tend to feel the cold, so I like layers. The shorts hardly ever see the light of day! I'm particularly fond of a pair of light weight leggings with mesh panels, they seem to suit all but the extremes of temperature. I am, however, a Bad Influence (see Couchpotato2's post) 😁
I got a super duper long sleeved running top off Oxfam’s online site when I first started C25k. Some boutique brand for men in x-small and It’s fine for my flat-chested frame. The fabric somehow is either cool or warm enough for everything so far & has convinced me of the virtues of quality fabric. I layer an old sleeveless walking gilet and then an ultra light wind cheater, again from a walking company. I shed as I warm up & tie jacket round my waist. BUT I haven’t solved the leg issue if it gets warmer. Light, slim track bottoms at the moment but watching for ideas.... 🏃🏼♀️
Thanks all - I am not sure I could master taking off a jacket and tying it round!! Well done to those who manage that.
I think it will be a bit of trial and error, think I will invest in some cropped leggings first of all and see how hot the summer gets before going to shorts (a terrifying thought!)
So, the cropped leggings came today and feel lovely on the leg (and cover the knees!). BUT now the forecast says cold & rain for tomorrow. ☹️ Test may be postponed if winter is returning!
Capris at least although I have gone to the dark side of running shorts with built in brief... you don't know "breeze" until you've felt that! 🤣🤣🤣
I do wear long socks for long runs both for compression and to protect against brambles and nettles.
I used to think oh no! to running vests but over the obligatory sports bra its fine, just be careful of any areas that might chafe...bodyglide for that 👍🏻
