Well I am officially off the IC but having a staggered return to running. Did W1 R1 C25K last night as a gentle test and happy to report all good today.
My plan is to spend the next 2 weeks getting back to where I was pre-injury so if all goes well should then start ju-ju's 10k plan.
It felt so good to run last night even if it was just a little one. Now just need to be patient (sorry what does that mean) and all will be well.

Great to hear this Lori. My niglette turned into a niggle tonight during my 5.5km run. I very sensibly stopped after 3km and am seeing my physio on Friday. I’ve never done that before. I’ve always run on an injury and made it worse. We’re such good girls 😉the 5.5km will have to wait
Aren't we good ! Sorry to that Paul and your right the 5.5k isn't going anywhere but know the feeling of having to wait, hopefully nothing major. Keep us posted after appointment.
Aww so disappointing when you are enjoying running. I hurt my foot once and a huge bruise appeared suddenly. No idea what I did or when I did it but I had to walk with a stick for about 36 hours- couldn’t put any weight on it at all and I was so upset at the thought of not running - then I woke the next day and it was fine, still huge black bruise but no pain at all. Went out and ran that day and it was fine too. .
No idea what happened but I’m so glad I wasn’t out of action any longer.
Glad you are back in the game albeit very carefully
Thanks Lou. Yes still a bit disappointed as I was loving it and now feeling a little flat. But I am determined to plod away and hoping to renew my enthusiasm.
So pleased to read your posts and great runs, well done! Have a great weekend.
Will do , just preparing food for my birthday bbq tomorrow ( birthday on Sunday). I usually end up catering for about twice as many but I hate when you go out someone’s for food and you go home thinking “ I’m starved !! shall we get chips on the way home ?” So I like to make sure no one goes home hungry from mine .
This ones fun as I have 4 vegetarians, a vegan and the rest are carnivores .. I’m half and half. So I’m dividing the table in half and they’d better stick to their own half 🤣🤣
I do hope that the run goes really well. I am quite sure you'll be in the slow and steady camp. I am just taking my time in the post grad consolidation phase. Running three times a week 30 minutes or so and reading masses of posts about lots of peoples' running journeys. May well spend longer reading than running!! Again, I do hope your run goes well. 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
How did you do with the 20 minute run Lori ? I tried to run this morning and I had to stop after 2 minutes as the pain in my calf was excruciating. I feel SO disappointed 😔
Oh I'm so sorry, I do know how you are feeling. For me the first 5-10 mins ok then both knee and glute/high hamstring niggling a bit, thought oh sh** not again but after a couple of mins settled again. I have jut finished icing both. Won't really know until tomorrow as it is the day after that I really notice. Just hoping Paula ! Are you heading back to physio?
Sounds good Lori. Easy does it. Yes I’d better stick to my recuperation plan of rolling, stretching,Pilates and rest. And I’ll go back to the Physio. Hope you are right as rain tomorrow xx
