Wow, new route, longest run

Wonderful week! I have discovered the key for me to running for longer is a long warm up and a downhill start, what a difference ! On Monday I ran from Wimbledon village down ( lots of down) to the Thames, through Wandsworth Park and around here and there then back to East Putney, all told just over 8k. Lots of downhill ( and some up) a couple of pauses to check where I was going and avoid being run over, but I was chuffed. On Thursday I did a more direct route to Putney then kept going, over Putney bridge into and through Fulham, Chelsea and all the way up Kings Road to Sloane Square. Fewer pauses and more stamina, lovely shop windows to look in as you run past. I got to Sloane Square station tired and very red faced, but very chuffed. I think it’s just over 10k, next time will track and try to go a little further. Still slow ( about 7.40 per km, not sure everyone would count that as proper running, but who cares?) But there’s something very wonderful about settling into a run so you feel you can just keep going, something I wouldn’t have imagined possible even 2 months ago. Think I’m going to work my way along the district line into London gradually. I fancy running along the embankment :-))

As someone who averages 7.30-8 per km I think that definitely counts 😉
