Sunday mornings with the new me

β€’18 Replies

I remember when Sunday mornings involved lying in bed till mid-morning at least and only emerging because the desire for good coffee and a sticky pastry overcame the desire for just another 5 minutes under the duvet....

Well not any more! least one morning of every weekend now is an opportunity for a long run (8, 9 or 10k for me) and not only do I pull myself out of bed excited about it - I've usually spent more time at work on Friday planning the route in my head!. Oh the anticipation!

The new me eh! Have to say today's 10k along the Thames was a pottering jog of a run with plenty of time to savour the sights, smell the elderflowers (very heady at this time of year) and tiptoe across a field of cows. So no PB's but a great run all the same.

Now time for that coffee and maybe even a sticky pastry (But a least the old me feels less guilty about it these days!)

Happy Sunday running 😊

It’s great fun and lots of new routes just waiting to be explored. You become quite intrepid 😁 Planning and daydreaming about runs makes the time fly πŸ‘

Oooh a canal! We do so love the flatness πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Fantastic! Who cares about PBs - you had fun! πŸ˜€

Everything is lovely Deb.

Just fabulous.πŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸ‘.

Sounds like a fab run - well done!πŸ™‚

I think you’ve earned your sticky pastry 😊 x

I definitely enjoyed it!

I recognise that transformation. And with the temperature rising the start time is getting earlier.

A pottering jog of a run sounds lovely, Deb - good work! And that looks like a nice route.

I totally identify - who are we?! The old me would laugh if she knew I was training to run 10k. πŸ˜‚

What a difference a year (or less!) makes eh?

Sounds like your 10k training is going well though Sadie - could do with a bit of your pace some days! 😊

I know! I started running end of August last year. Has been quite the journey.

Noooo - you couldn’t do with my pace. Just watch. I am bound to twang something doing this 10k programme, bound to! 😬

Happy post Deb, after a lovely run!

Followed by coffee and pastry...Great job!😊xx

Happy Sunday...

Strange how life has changed. I didn't used to do anything until after the Archers Omnibus.

πŸ˜‚ I was home in time for it today!

Though sometimes download it as a podcast and listen to it while running in the week.

I have the daily podcasts of the Archers and catch up on them at the gym! ;-)

I'm just waiting to find out if Lily fails her exams and Freddie passes. That'll be a turn up for the books. LOL. ;-)

Indeed - there's trouble brewing there, no doubt!!!

I'll be honest, I'm still exactly that person. Running is strictly for Sunday afternoons as far as I'm concerned! I'll not have it eating into my duvet and pastry time.

Great post and picture
