was my first attempt at not running solo. I went out with the work run club and it was good, but i found i hit my wall quicker (suspect this was the heat)- supported by the group leader to get through and i did- but i normally do this alone and am far more efficient at blocking those gremlins
Covered 8k and it was really hot - lots of hills so felt punishing :-0 Not my best pace but considering i'm a morning runner not bad for a first attempt. Look forward to next week to see if i improve and hope its a bit milder. In the meantime i'm going out for my Saturday morning long one tomorrow so hoping to feel better on that.
Have a great weekend all -whatever your running goals maybe

It’s good to do both group runs and solos. I find benefits to both. I love the company of the others in my running group but I always feel the pressure of keeping up and not being last etc etc and I really don’t thrive on that.
For my solo runs I love that I can just go out whenever the feeling takes me and go wherever I feel like going . I also love that the onky pressure is from me but I do feel vulnerable sometimes and I listen to the doubting demons more when I’m on my own.
It’s an interesting one but I’m gonna keep doing both runs as well as the parkruns and races to keep it interesting.
