Virtual runner challenge

Well I’ve gone and done it and entered the 50 miles in June challenge. I’ve been running 5k 3 times a week for the whole month of May and just once I ran 6 km so I decided to push myself that little bit more and enter the challenge. It seems I’ve run about 65 km this month so it’s only a little bit more but I’m quite excited by the challenge.

I’ve also started doing strengthening exercises on the days I don’t run, a 7 minute video on YouTube, it seems quite easy to do but I really feel it the next morning so hopefully I ll start to see a difference.

I’m thinking I might start the speed, strength, distance method in July if I manage the 50 mile challenge ok.

I’ve also decided no matter how much I want to run on consecutive days I’m not gonna do that until I’ve been running for at least 6 months. Everything I read says new runners , especially overweight or older runners ( which unfortunately I am both ) are more prone to injury if they do too much too soon.

And I’m definitely continuing with my exploration of parkruns😁 a different parkrun every Saturday for the last 6 weeks now 😍.

So I now seem to have a real clear plan for the next couple of months 😊

We ll see how it goes x
