First sub 50’ 10K

I’ve done a few 10k runs recently but failed to break the sub 50 minut barrier... until this morning. Lovely cool morning for an early run and managed 10k in 48:54 which I was pretty chuffed with (over 1m 15s quicker than my previous best).

I used to detest running, but over the past six months have started to quite enjoy it possibly due to losing a lot of weight (just over 3 stone in the last year, of which running has helped) making it a little easier on my body.

Yes it certainly helps. If you eat better, then you feel better . It’s all good 🙂

Congrats on your sub 50. That’s amazing! 😃💪

Wow! Amazing time for a 10k, very jealous as I'd love to get under an hour lol. I live in swavesey now, but spent a number of years living in Wimblington just up the road from you(assuming it's the chatteris in cambs, though I can't imagine there being another lol)

Thanks all, very pleased with the time and today splashed out on a proper pair of running shoes, mainly to provide more comfort and protection.

Yes it is the Chatteris in Cambs, has the advantage of being very flat :-)
