Long run planned Sunday, advice please

So I'm going to try a long run on Sunday, I don't want to say how far in case I jinx It!!! but hopefully longer than my previous best of 15k. That was done in much cooler conditions so my question is whether the value of carrying a water bottle outweighs the inconvenience of carrying a water bottle, if you see what I mean!!

I’d take a water bottle, worth it for runs over an hour (I use tailwind and works for me!)

Everyone is different but I tend to carry water over any run longer that 10k. Especially in the warm weather, I think it's a good idea. Also, make sure you hydrate well the day before, then you will cope better with the heat anyway. Good luck with your run btw!🙂

Thank you, I'm pretty sure as long as my asthma is good and I can get into my rhythm early I can do it but we shall see!!!

I hate carrying stuff, so stash water en route for runs over 10k. Make sure your hydration is good before you go like op said.

Definitely, especially if it's warm, but define 'carry'? Do you mean in your hand? That's a pain in the - hand :D Perhaps you have a water belt or a hydration pack, though? Much better!

Have an enjoyable run!

I am terrible for not carrying water but in your case - being as you don’t know how long you are gonna be out - I would take a hand held 350 or 500 ml bottle, or nip into a shop if you are running in civilisation I use the tap at the cemetery which has saved my life on occasions 🙂

When I have drunk my water I stash the bottle down my vest 👍

Bon voyage 😃🏃‍♂️

I just bought this, but in black: decathlon.co.uk/bag-trail-r...

I haven't tried it out yet, but it's very light and you can carry quite a bit of extra stuff in it, phone, keys, jacket, spare vest or t-shirt. It has a plastic tube for drinking that you bring over your front and anchor through loops.

Deffo take one. I would suggest getting a hydration pack as then you have your arms free for other things... and good luck :)
