4 weeks ago today I managed my first 5k run. Today and being totally honest I did not know it was 4 weeks to the day that I did the 5k. I had planned to run 10k today as I was on my day off. I try and make sure I do two outdoor runs a week if I have 2 separate days. I had given my self a days rest yesterday so I was ready for this run. I donβt d my normal 5 minutes bike warm up and made may way on my epic journey. The 1st 10mins was hard but I kept at it telling myself just 5 miles to go. I hit the 2 mile mark and was happy with my pace which was around 11 minutes to the mile. I got half way and felt really good. I got to the 4 mile point and knew I could do it as I still felt fresh. As I hit the 5 mile point my legs started to hurt a little bit it because I had been running on sand for the last bit. I then herd the the lady on my phone say 6 miles I knew I only had a little bit further to go I closed in on the finish line and was done. I couldnβt believe that I had just completed my first ever 10k run. I had a little rest and then made my way home. So in a 4 weeks I had gone from 5k to 10k It just shows that if we give ourselves targets we can achieve them. Canβt wait for my next day off and hopefully find a new 10k run πββοΈ

Wow thatβs amazing! Iβm hoping to do the same in the next week or so. Graduated C25k 2 weeks ago and did 7.4k last Monday. Canβt believe how quickly the body improves week by week!
Congratulations!

Fantastic achievement! Well done! How much of that was done on sand??? About the most energy-sapping surface to run on! I hope to run 10k later this month, having completed 5 miles on Saturday. Off to try out my knees in a 5k shortly
