Assuming it's in the morning, just have your usual breakfast at least 2 hours before running.

During the run try to run at your preferred pace and don't try and keep up with the person in front or go too slow because you don't want to overtake. Picking the right spot at the start can help also if they have start points for different expected times, starting in the right spot saves you getting overtaken as much or trying to run way too fast.

Good luck in your race, i'm sure you will smash it and it looks like the weather will be great for you :) definitely shorts and t-shirt weather.

Oooh exciting! Races are great fun and a bit addictive πŸ€—

Don't change your usual habits, eat what you normally eat the night before but maybe best to avoid spicy foods and I don't eat out the night before a race just in case! Keep well hydrated the day before, eat your usual breakfast of whatever works for you. Some people can run without any food while others need a proper meal. Don't do anything different on the day.

If you have to pick up your bib, then take safety pins. Most organisers provide them but I've been to a few races where they don't.

Don't start off too fast, this is your race and yours only and try to ignore what everyone else is doing.

Smile for the photographer (I rarely manage this 😩 ), enjoy the whole experience, don't forget to switch off your watch once you cross the finish line 😏, be prepared to feel epic and then come here and show us your bling.

Good luck and enjoy it. You'll be fab πŸƒπŸƒπŸƒπŸ…πŸ…πŸ…

Never run a race- so no tips. But very well done and I hope you enjoy yourself :)

Very exciting! I think these points have been covered already but stick to what you have already found works for you as regards food. Drink plenty the day before and make use of water stations on the day. I ALWAYS set off too fast so check your pace! I think the adrenaline and atmosphere mean we tend to head off much faster than we think! If it's a big race, sometimes the opposite can be true if you get caught up with lots of runners. If this happens, just go with the flow and enjoy the moment! Don't stress if your sleep is a bit rubbish the night before - nerves are the norm and as long as you are well prepared it won't affect you on the day.10k is a great distance and the feeling you get when you cross the line will keep a smile on your face for the rest of the bank holiday! Good luck - and yes, post a pic you of the bling!πŸ™‚πŸ…

I think everything has been covered! I'd just add one thing: don't wear anything new (you can have nasty surprises like rubbing seams or migrating knickers) and don't be tempted to try any of those energy gels or Lucozade-style energy drinks unless you have already tried them and not had.. uhh... tummy problems. It's tempting to think that they will magically make you run twice as fast, but one mouthful of that Lucozade yuck at the Big Half (they'd run out of water by the time I got to the drinks station) almost made me throw up. Most importantly, enjoy it and report back!
