Pain usually means you should stop! (Depending on where the pain is).
As for side stitches....eeeks, I hate those. Are you perhaps running a touch too fast? Eating too much before the run? I run through stitches now - but sooo slowly, and with my arms in the air (yes, I look like an idiot, but it is a tip I read somewhere). Slowing right down sorts out most woes. 👍

I tense my stomach muscles and focus on really deep and slow breaths. Usually helps.

Advice I've read is stiches are caused by dehydration, are you drinking enough? I always have a glass of water before my run and fingers crossed, never had a stitch.
Hope that helps 😁🏃♀️🏃♀️

I was going to say exactly the same as Crawlhome . I always thought stitches were from dehydration too, so I make sure I drink plenty the day before a run and an hour or so before I go out. I also have a little sip of water ‘for luck’ just as I’m about to start! No stitches for me either (touch wood!) 😀🏃♀️
