I had to spend a month on the DL, due to a stupid ruptured ovarian cyst and work commitments. Two weeks ago, my partner and I finally opened the business we'd been working on for three years, which is so exciting, but I think I extended my "DL status" longer than I should have, thanks to stress and insane hours.

BUT I finally made it back out on the trail today! Just an easy 30 minutes; I almost certainly could have pushed further (although definitely not back up to the 10k I was doing a while ago). IT FELT SO GOOD to just run and not worry about anything at all. It's amazing how quickly I forgot what that felt like (and how great I feel afterwards)! Now I just need to figure out how to re-balance working 8,000 hours a week with running again. At least the days are getting longer!

If you’re very busy a run is a great way to unwind Everyone needs some time to themselves 👍🏃‍♀️

Ouch for the ovarian cyst. A friend had.that and they thought it was a ruptured apendix at first. Glad you are back out and running now.

That's what happened to me, too. Some fun hospital time in the midst of everything else going on! Would not recommend.

I'm in the same boat of crazy exhausting work hours making running very necessary but finding it so hard to make the time. Do the best you can to eke out a bit of time, even for a nice short run, and enjoy it when you can. Congrats on getting your new business up and running!

Thank you! It's a lot more difficult to fit the time, especially since I'm working through the weekend at this point, but I do need to prioritize. Work-life balance is healthy, but hard!
