Getting further with every run

Wasn’t feeling it this morning and didn’t want to get out of bed. I did my normal warm up of a 5 minute cycle just to get my blood flowing. I got out the door and began my journey. The 1st 10mins pr so was hard and there was times when I felt like jacking it in. I’ve learnt that after about 15 minutes my body gets use to running. I had decided that I wanted to hit the 4 mile mark today so I had a mission to achieve. By the time I had reached the 2 mile mark I could feel my legs getting tired. I slowed my pace down and was all ready feeling the benefit. Before I knew I had reached the 3 mile mark. For my last mile I had decided to run along the beach as the tide was out. This made running a little harder but it was a nice change. Then the words I had been waiting for came in to my ears a robot voice saying 4 miles had been run. I carried on to the public toilets as I knew there was a drinks fountain there. I had finished at last I felt a little tired but after a quick drink I felt fine again. I then had a nice 2 mile walk home so in total I had completed 6 miles.

Well done! 😃.

If you find it a slog then slow it Down! No need to go for the burn when you’re going for distance. Slow running builds legs! Also you are less out of puff which makes life easier

You could do a longer warm up. I am horribly slow to get going so I walk quite a while before starting to run. If the weather’s bad I warm up indoors before heading out for the warm up walk

Have fun out there 😃👍
