Hello everyone and welcome to week 8 of the plan...... the final week!!!!!!So how are you doing? Anyone is welcome to join this plan at any point. Attached is the run down of runs.
Thanks Ju-Ju - did my first 9k last week and it still seems a long way. Thought my 4k was going to be easy this week but found it really hard then my 5k was like flying (for me). Looks like the 9k for this weekend might be a wet one as rain seems to be the schedule all weekend 😭 .. last week's 9k was so tempting to go the extra 1 but I stuck to your plan 😎.
I love your videos!! You know, you look more and more like a Mission Impossible member: just replace the cars swooshing (They sound like real fast, you're taking risks!!) in the background by the famous music, and we can fancy you're about to jump over the bridge with a parachute or something
Having said that, my mission is a bit delayed this week and I think I will keep the 10K for next Sunday and so this Sunday it'll be 9K, adjusting to the warmer temperatures. I never thought I would say it's too hot for running when it's barely 18°C, but in fact just a few degrees higher makes it very different.
You make it sound amazing!! I have to apologise this vid was from last months plan... I will be doing some better ones for next time. I do run along a main road which is why I like to leave super early as I hate cars but needs must in the week when its dark. Woods at weekends, so much better. I will work on the bridge jumping and parachuting for my next one. Well done on your progress, and the warmer temps are a killer, I agree. I much prefer cold. There is no rush to finish, you are so close now, well done
Fantastic, well done..... I suggest consolidating this distance for a bit while you decide whats next. You could sign up for a 10k, train for a HM, explore new places on your runs..... whatever you choose
Hi! I’m about to start week 7! Have had a few days off running as we’ve been in London (took son to see “Wicked” which was brilliant and I’m not a massive musical fan!! )
We were staying near Hyde Park and had visions of running there and took my kit just in case!! We did so much walking and packed such a lot in I didn’t get round to it! Saw so many runners! Wonder if I’d have noticed pre C25K! Felt like giving them all a knowing wave!!
Glad I decided to “rest” though! Had to wear my running shoes on second day for walking in as my boots were so uncomfortable!! Anyway ready to get back into my routine! London is so tiring but thanks to my new found fitness with running it was much more enjoyable!! 😀🏃♀️
I went out for a 5k with the girls from my running club last night, and Parkrun tomorrow will finish week 7 for me. Then onwards to week 8 - but my 10k is a race - eek! Just aiming to get round though, and if I can do it all without walking any that will be a bonus.
I completed the 9K run from week 7 this afternoon. Physically, I’m sure I could have continued on to 10k, but mentally I was never going to go past 9k today.
Looking forward to the final week. Good luck everybody!
Away in Sheffield for a few days so my running plans are a little out of sorts. I still feel like a practice runner a lot of the time but really ought to stop thinking like that as I brought my running kit with me and went for an early 5k yesterday round the streets of Sheffield (got lost so was a bit stop start but hills didn’t do me as much damage as I thought they might do so I might just be getting fitter) which must mean I’m a grown up runner now surely! I have managed a 10k already by accident but wanted to stick with the plan through until the end so will have my final run next Sunday. Really enjoyed this plan so thank you.
I’m so pleased you’ve liked it, and well done on your progress. I don’t think I will ever feel like a proper runner, I think us folks who start so late in life have it ingrained in our psyche....
I haven't been on here for a while, but I feel like I need to shift the gears a bit. I've had friends moving on from 5k, and I think the time has come to push myself a bit. Your plan looks great, I am going to start following it, but I'm extemding the weeks to 12 for my own sanity, with smaller increases in the longer runs. I've worked out which days fit in best with the longer runs, so here we go!
I used the videos and posts as motivation to get back to running 10ks so I am very happy to report that I did two during the programme. Thank you very much!
Did the 5 k of week 7 yesterday on the treadmill because of muddy weather : I hadn’t run on it for a while - although The 9 k last week went well outside , yesterday’s 5k nearly killed me . I ran at 5 mph : i must run so much slower outside ! I did it but it was soooo hard going. Does anyone else find the same ?
Well that’s the 4K of week 8 in the bag - work has got a bit stressy this week, so didn’t make it out last night as planned, so glad I got out tonight. We are doing speed drills at my running club tomorrow night, so I doubt I will get to 5k, but hope it still counts. The big day is on Sunday - eek!
Well done to all you that made the 10K - what a great achievement. Ive stalled in the middle ju-ju- but thought I may limp along between this program and the next one. I'm hoping for an impressive finish quite soon haha!
