Hi. Has anyone got experience of bone conduction headphones? I run most of my routes on country roads with my dog so want to be aware of cars etc but thinking as the Ks hopefully increase I may fancy some music or something. After some first hand reviews ππ΅πΆ
Also, any advice on fuel! I run first thing in the morning before breakfast but today was a real struggle (4.5 miles in 3x15min runs with 1 min walks between although I had to walk a few more times as my legs just felt heavy and my brain felt annoyed π!!) and wonder if this was a blip or if I need to think about taking something on board. Have experimented with water/toast/tea/squash etc before but found I got a stitch if I had anything. That was at the beginning of C25K so does it improve if you've trained more??
Thanks!!

I love my bone conducting headphones Trekz titanium (the minis as I have a small head). I also run on rural roads and you can hear traffic etc no problem. Sound quality is also very good in my experience so I would heartily recommend them. Mine are Bluetooth wireless too so no flappy irritating wires either.
I've written about fifty percent of my posts here extolling their virtues I love mine. I have the air version as they are smaller and lighter, otherwise I find I have too much going on round my ears on a sunny day,but that's just me. My pal has the titanium version (bought after borrowing mine!) and has no such issues. The sound quality is of course not a good as proper cans but it's perfectly good enough for running. Better than my former earbuds, as you don't have to hear your own footsteps amplified and bouncing round your head. My only gripe is I wish the volume control stages were slightly smaller βI find my preferred volume is kind of between two levels. But it's a minor thing, and worth it to feel safe and aware of your surroundings. Run4it, my local running shop, has some on display that you can try before buying, maybe you have a similar shop nearby that can give you a shot?
Thanks! Sound like they may be a good thing - not looked at the air ones but will see if I can find some. Try before you buy sounds like a good oprion too. Pretty new to running so have yet to find a local shop!! Thanks for the info!
Yes, try before you buy is a great idea. I am/was hugely sceptical but Iβve read good reports on here today The price is a stumbling block at the mo If I do take music with me I wear just one ear plug in my good ear π€¨
Yes - it is the price isn't it. Think I'm going to try though. I have ridiculously small ears so as soon as I smile or open my mouth ear buds tend to fall out!!!! With the faces I make running I can't think a bud would last long!!!!! I'll let you know if I have any luck with the others.
Haha I'm the same, I was always smiling or sneezing my ear buds out when running. I had the revelation recently β after thirty odd years of life β that my earholes (for want of a better word) are narrower than average, which is why my boyfriend is able to sleep in earplugs and I am not and get grumpy about it. I found some mini ones on amazon, for people with tiny earholes, and now I can sleep through the student parties Sadly I am also likely to sleep through my work alarm now that earplugs are actually effective, so it is a temporary joy.
