If anyone needs a spring boost, other than just running, you might be interested in the 5x50 challenge. I first did it five years ago, when I'd just finished c25k, and it was a good way to keep motivated. It was originally meant to be 5k every day for 50 days (which I was not in the least bit likely to do), but there are various alternatives - eg a gradual build up day by day, or 30 minutes of any exercise you like. There's a 'team' for "Beyonders 2018", from people who did c25k on here.
It started on Sunday, but late arrivals are still welcome (it says until midnight tonight, but I think it's been extended to 31st March now).
You can get sponsored if you want to, but I'm just doing it to make myself get fitter again. It prompted me to come back onto HU after a long break, and re-reading posts made me decide to go out and do a little run, even though I'd already done 30 minutes of Pilates. So, one mile run done, first one since November. All good.
All good! Just deleted facebook, to give me some time back for other things, like running and exercise, so instead I came back to HU. Can't keep away from the internet!
Oh, welcome back. Strangely, just the other day I was thinking of one of your posts something about your daughter asking if you were going for a run and you said no but you were reading about it. Still makes me smile.
Good luck with the 5 x 50, I don't think I'd keep it up I'm afraid.
Hello! Nice to see you on here again I'm signed up for 5x50 but am only walking just now. I think I will go for my first run on 12th April, which will be my 6th runniversary I should have the all-clear by then to go for a little run (I've had a minor op) so this seems a very suitable day! Happy running!
Great to see you back here, you were my inspiration when I first started C25k and I was so in awe of you doing the 5/50..... this is a great way to get energised and have some fun 😎
That is such a lovely comment - it's really made my day, Ju-ju. xxx I ran a mile again today, including a fair bit of hill, plus a couple of miles walking in the rain, and loved it. I'm in awe of what you get up to now, and it's brilliant to come back on this site and find out how you're continuing to inspire so many others.
