So I said I would report back to how things went on my first yoga session.
I turned up at the local school hall and discovered that was the only person in the class so I had an hour of one on one yoga action which saw me practicing sun salutation lots and various other bits and bobs, with some warm up meditation and even a few om's thrown in for good measure. Lots of focus on the breathing which I liked and at the end the yogi commented on how supple I was and asked if I did lots of exercise?.. lol, way to get repeat custom by blowing smoke up my ass
I thoroughly enjoyed the session and found the poses really targeted a lot of relevant muscles, so much so that I managed my first sub 30min 5k once I got home.
So here's to yoga, I shall be definitely returning to it again.
Oh and as to outfit, I just wore my running leggings, which are somewhere between a tight and a track pant. That felt pretty comfortable with just an underarmour heatgear top. I did consider shorts on top but decided it looked daft.

Brilliant that you got some one-on-one teaching! I did classes every day one-on-one when I was in India, and I really improved. Glad it went well. Yoga really compliments running well. Om!
wow every day, sounds like you were very lucky. I will have to look in to seeing how I can fit more in but I suspect it will be at home watching it on youtube lol.
I was lucky - also it was cheap, by British standards, no way I could afford one on one in the UK. For years after I crammed myself into a variety of busy London classes, with up to 20-25 people in a class. After a few years of classes I felt able to go it alone and now use an app called Yoga Studio, which is fab. Has a huge range of classes for all abilities (ranges from beginner to advanced), with classes for specific needs (including runners) and length of class. No, I don’t work for them, promise! But I do recommend it, once you have attended classes for a while. Good thing about home practice is that it’s so easy to fit in 15 mins or 30 mins here and there. 🧘🏼♀️😀
Yay, we’ll done, sounds like a success! Did you see the yoga teacher on 100 years younger last night? He was amazing. I love my regular weekly yoga class (after its over - I hate it at the time as it’s really tough) and we have such a laugh as a group. It’s all good body conditioning for running 😊 🧘🏻♀️
No I haven't watched that yet. Getting all the ceiling skimmed in the house(we just moved in last month) so not had much tv time. Will put it on the catch up list, though I do recall the adverts suggesting it had some stuff about wearing your own urine as cologne or something so not sure I want to watch it lol.
Just once a week at the moment Helene, I run 3 days and gym 4 days so have to shoehorn it in to the schedule. Though I do hope to do a quick 15 mins pre and post runs if possible and maybe before breakfast if I can get up early enough(leave at 6:30). Maybe I can take my tikki pants to work and try some balancing on one of the concrete cows in Milton Keynes (where my current client is).
Crikey yes, that is quite a lot, though I suppose that once you get to grips with some of the poses then those 15 minutes should be easy enough to fit in.
I would definitely applaud cow-balancing in Milton Keynes!
