Well, who would ever have thought it and apologies to JuJu but I appear to have skipped a couple of weeks and to my amazement ran 10k today ๐
The background is that I tried to do a 5k last night, went off to quick (AGAIN!!!) and had to stop after 2k as the asthma kicked in.
Absolutely fuming with myself so set off this morning aiming for 8k, started nice and slow with the first 6 splits all around 7.20, felt good and just kept going with the last 4k all around 6.40.
4 months ago today I started couch to 5k and couldn't run 60 seconds without dying so I must admit to feeling incredibly proud.
Once again thank you to all you wonderful people on both forums for your support and advice over the last 4 months. Onwards and upwards.
Run happy and run safe everyone.

That's amazing. Well done on getting there so soon. Naughty for running two days in a row mind you ๐. Now you can just do 10k for the next 3 weeks to consolidate I guess.
I think I will be following the program as prescribed as I need to build up the legs a bit more.
I am always to stubborn!!!, after failing yesterday I always had it in the back of my mind to keep going to 10 if it felt ok at 8, it worked today but my stubbornness backfires more often than not!!
I know the feeling, I am trying to be very disciplined to avoid injury. In the Summer I tried to go too far too quickly and ended up on the IC. So this time round I'm doing as I'm told (not a normal way of operating for me)!
Wow, very well done to you and a nice time too. I graduated c25k in July and I've only just done 10k so you are doing really well, you should be mega proud.
Well done!! Another 10k success story which is fantastic. At least you know what works best with your asthma and can achieve whatever you want.
Well done! I bet you're on top of the world! It's good to know that you can beat the asthma - I suffer too, mainly in colder weather & the first 2k is the worst. I'm still plodding around the 7k mark on juju's plan - has been so hard getting out during the week being early to work & late home in the dark I'm just not getting enough regular runs in. Good luck with your next steps!
