10 is the magic number

Week 6 starts today and I'm supposed to be doing 9k. Half a banana and hit the streets. Perfect weather - cool and overcast. I ran through the country lanes for about 3k then started doing laps of the village. It's a bit boring but I need the distance as our village is pretty small. I even ran down cul de sacs to add a few metres. At 5k I got my usual dose of endorphins which helps a lot (why can’t I have it at 4k?). Another lap of the town as I passed 7k. Still feeling good. At 8.5k I don’t need to do any more laps so I made the turn for home which is about a mile away. Garmin buzzed for the 9th time, and I'm still good. So I just kept going. I ran the 10th km in 7:13, which is parkrun pace for me - I think there was a bit of euphoria going on. 10 really is the magic number; I absolutely loved that run.

Nice one it’s great when it just flows and the KM’s stack up good pace too. I did 7km this am and had to stop myself at 7km but felt good for more not very fast but got there nether the less. You’ve busted the 10k now where from here do you consolidate or drop back into the plan ? Dilemmas eh but good ones 😀👍

Mike how do you go out for a 9k and end up doing 10k ? I’ve never gone out to do 5k and ended up doing 6k! There must be some transformation that happens on ju-jus plan. Many congratulations to you on this fantastic achievement.
