Set out for a mid morning run around the village and just had that feeling that it was going to be a good one today. I concentrated hard on keeping a steady even pace and the result was my fastest time yet to 5k at just over 32 minutes and all the splits were around the 6.30 mark. Very very happy. It's good this running malarkey isn't it!!!! ๐
Ju_ Ju_s 10k is the magic number Week 1 Run ... - Bridge to 10K
Ju_ Ju_s 10k is the magic number Week 1 Run 2, fastest time yet to 5k
I bet that cleared the cobwebs away ๐๐๐
Great stuff, Chris! Well done, and glad you enjoyed it.
Brilliant.๐x
Nice one. You are kind of inspiring me to try this and get to 10k. Since graduating c25k I have been surprised to find out that I can already run more than 5k in 30 mins (I did 5.74k in 32 mins last night). Maybe if I slow down a bit 10k won't seem quite so daunting........
Morning Mike, Iโm in complete agreement, Chris is a inspiration ๐๐
Iโve been finding that the Bridge to 10K is easier that the C25K. I got to 8K before a injury interrupted my training.
I found that keeping the same pace and breathing technique worked for me ๐
If youโre still feeling good at pace youโre doing, keep with it ๐
Good luck on your journey ๐๐
Your pace is really good, better than mine. Speaking from a personal point of view I know I can run 5k in about 32 minutes but will have to adopt a slower pace for longer runs, probably about 36 or 37 mins for 10k, it's fun doing both!!! ๐
32 minutes for 5k is pretty good going. After reading this I think I'm going to have a go at the 10
I thought you couldnโt run slower Chris?? ๐
Pound to a penny youโll do 10K in not much over a hour! ๐
Funnily enough, my ave pace over the 5mile run was better than my 5K.....Iโm obviously getting fitter ๐
Ha, I do struggle, I start of slow but then end up increasing the pace a bit without even realising, if I can get 10k in 70 minutes in a couple of months I would be very happy!!!
