Getting back into it after IC

After doing a 5k on Saturday and still feeling a bit sore, I rested up and did a very sedate 5k with my Jogging group this morning m. Felt much better after but left leg ‘radiating’ a tad after having had Shin Splints. It’s not painful so I’m assuming it’s OK to resume 10K training? 🤔

Are you still hoping to do your 10k event on Sunday 21st Jan Ted?

No Jan, with me struggling and my Brothers partner recovering from a recent knee replacement, we decided to transfer our registration to another run on Mar 3rd. Should be OK for that but if not, so be it.....I’m not rushing 😊

In that case, you have plenty of time, so could stretch your training out a bit to make sure you don't hurt yourself.

No harm in going back a week or two on the 10k program and rebuilding your distance. If you get any issues though you will need to rethink..

Did you get any joy with your running shoes (re. the different advise from the running shops?)

Hope your brothers wife's knee op recovery goes well xx

Didn’t have receipt, so going to have to bite the bullet.

I’m doing 6k on Monday if OK, 5k Thurs then 7k following Monday....I’m not going to do anymore than 5 runs a fortnight 🏃🏃😊

Take care Jan and happy running 😊
